How Much Should A Shirt Shrink? 

In the first couple of years after World War Two, the American style for wearing T-shirts as an outer garment, inspired largely by new US army outfits, distribute to the civilian citizenry of America. In 1948 the New York Times reported a fresh and unique marketing tool for that year’s strategy for New York Governor Thomas E. Dewey. It had been the first noted “slogan T-Shirt”, the message study “Dew It for Dewey”, carefully repeated by the more popular “I Like Ike” T-shirts in Dwight D. Eisenhower’s presidential campaign.

In the early 1950s enterprising companies based in Miami, Florida, begun to enhance tee shirts with Floridian resort titles and also animation characters. The initial noted visual shirt catalogue was developed by Tropix Togs, by their author and founder, Ohio John Kantor. They certainly were the first licensee for Walt Disney heroes that included Mickey Mouse and Davy Crockett. Later other companies widened in to the tee shirt printing organization that involved Sherry Production Company also located in Miami.

As textile technologies improved, new T-shirt models were shortly presented, including the the container prime, the A-shirt (infamously called the “wife beater”), the muscle shirt, scoop necks, and of course V-necks.

Rings, football clubs, political parties, promotion agencies, business conference managers, actually anybody following an item of inexpensive promotion began to commission and promote large amounts of T-shirts. One noble exception of that time period was the now iconic “Give the World” Shirt, created to boost resources and consciousness of the initial and amazing Band Support charity event.
